Job Position: Senior Transmission Engineer - Network Synchronization

Location: Any City, NG

Job Description

The mission is to ensure proper planning of regional network traffic, network protection and synchronization, as well as general capacity management of the network in both the short and long run plan.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide the circuits routing plan for the new Base Transceiver station (BTS) upgrades and re parenting.
• Provide the circuits routing for the inter-MSC, Direct connect and interconnect.
• Plan and release Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) and Plesiochronous digital Hierarchy (PDH) multiplexes.
• Ensure Network capacity planning and dimensioning.
• Provide the circuits routing for Internet Protocol (IP) network.
• Design and plan network topology/structure/architecture with a view to optimize resources.
• Develop and plan effective network protection methods.
• Plan the resources needed for protection at each logical channel.
• Synchronize network design process.
• Ensure current synchronization plan and method are effective.
• Ensure Network management.
• Develop and plan the data communication network.
• Lead Network Synchronization Support and Maintenance Services to clients.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/ Telecoms Engineering.
• 7 years experience in installation and maintenance in a Mobile Telecommunications operational environment especially in Network Synchronization.
• Design architecture of networks in Mobile Telecommunications operational environment.
• Basic transmission / microwave planning; transport network evolution towards an Ethernet based.
• Advanced Knowledge of GSM technology
• Strong experience in Optical network technology (Fibre network Planning and
• Dimensioning multiplexes (TM, ADM, AODM) Microwave Technology (PDH and SDH) Strong network synchronization implementation experience.
