Program Coordinator Sustainable Total Sanitation Job Nigeria

WaterAid is a UK registered international charity dedicated to the provision of safe water, sanitation and hygiene to the world’s poorest people. We support local organizations to manage low cost, sustainable projects and also provide policy support to secure the tight of poor people to safe water and sanitation services. To effectively implement our country strategy, WaterAid Nigeria invites suitably qualified candidates to fill these exciting opportunities on our team:

PROGRAM COORDINATOR, SUSTAINABLE TOTAL SANITATION NIGERIA

JOB DETAILS

This role will oversee programme planning and delivery: programme monitoring and reporting: communication & partnership liaison and staff management on a new programme which seeks to consolidate WaterAid’s years of work to improve effectiveness, efficiency, inclusiveness and sustainability of sanitation approaches in 3 states or Nigeria. This position will be expected to provide day to day coordination towards achievement of
the project goals and ensuring the integration of the project’s activities with broader WaterAid in Nigeria programme priorities.
The position will be based in Abuja, Nigeria but will require regular travel to support our work in the states, LGAs and over 35 local partner organizations and occasional travel outside the country.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

The ideal person tor this position would possess an undergraduate and Master’s degrees in the natural, physical or social sciences: minimum 10 years of experience ,of which at least 5 of which MUST be in a senior development programme management or coordination role: strong demonstrable experience in the effective management and delivery of complex community based development projects with multiple stakeholder in a developing country context; experience with managing multiple project stakeholders including community level stakeholders, government officials; donors etc: excellent competencies in writing project reports; strong demonstrable experience with managing people in a direct supervisory role and strong experience with implementation of an action learning and research project in a development setting.
